A key aspect of every security strategy is
the ability to delay an intruder from accessing his target
before a response can be successfully deployed. To impede
an intruder, a number of delay barriers and defensive position
can be installed.
Bullet resistive defensive positions are designed to protect
responding personnel from hostile gunfire. Constructed of
steel or fiberglass armor plate these barriers are custom
configurable and include gunports with sliding or hinged covers.
For extended delay requirements on door openings, NSSC offers
reinforced concrete filled penetration resistive door and
frame units. These units are designed to resist both hand
tool penetration techniques as well as explosive charges.
Accepted life safety hardware configurations are used for
emergency egress. Reinforced concrete vestibules can be supplied
to ease installation concerns.
Shorter delay requirements for door openings can be achieved
through the use of delay barriers constructed of expanded
metal and reinforced hardware. Not only will seconds be added
to the intruder’s timeline, but he will also be exposed
to defensive position fire while attempting to penetrate the
barrier. Delay barriers are available in custom configurations
to meet any facility’s requirements.
